Graduation Party Tabletop Ideas

April 8, 2022

Whether you’re celebrating with a gathering of five or 55, make the graduation celebration memorable with savvy tabletop ideas. In the colours and decor to the trivets and keepsakes, show how proud you are of the grad’s endurance and success.

Color Combos

Utilizing a high school graduate’s school colours is only one party scheme option. If he is heading to college or university, then decorate the table with that school’s colours to adopt, symbolize and celebrate the transition. Utilize the tablecloth, napkins, centerpiece, dishware, cake icing, seat covers and candy — in assorted clear-glass containers on a nearby candy table since the color vehicles. An online search can help you determine the school’s colours if you don’t already know what they are.

Balloon Bouquet

A graduation party isn’t complete without balloons. For contrast against a colorful table, then tie white helium-filled-balloon bouquets to ornamental weights. On the balloons, write congratulation messages, the graduation year and the graduate’s name. Tape on some of the grad’s photographs, using tape. Include baby photos and the baccalaureate ceremony, if she got a diploma. The balloon ribbons can function in the party’s color scheme, and must be long enough to hold the balloons above eye level so they’re out of the way of seated guests.

Textbook Trivets

Textbooks help you decorate the table in savvy scholarly fashion. Use stacked novels as trivets to get cold-cut platters, cheese trays or bun bowls. When you introduce buffet dishes at different heights, then you produce an interesting arrangement and also make efficient use of space by sliding broad dishware borders under each other. Utilize book-stack trivets on the dessert table too.

Keepsake Idea

As guests arrive, give each individual a pen and a sheet of card paper in the form of a graduation cap, or a mini blank scroll and a ribbon to tie it closed. Ask everyone to write one positive, encouraging word or a short sentence to describe the honorary graduate, express pride or congratulate his achievements — signatures discretionary. Rather than or alongside the table’s centerpiece, have tall vases, reaching above eye level, and showcasing bare branches on that to fasten the notes with supplied paper clips or alligator clips. After the party, then collect the papers and introduce them to the guest of honor in a picture album or decorative box within an inspirational keepsake.
